What is Airsoft?

Airsoft guns fire 6mm plastic pellets (or BBs) at low speeds (between 100 and 300 feet per second or 30 to 90 meters per second), fast enough to feel, but slow enough not to hurt. They range in price from £10 for a low-budget spring pistol to around £3000 for the six-barreled mini-gun, but most electric-powered Airsoft equipment (which is used for Airsoft skirmishing), like M16's and AK47's, cost £150-£300.

Airsoft equipment is a lot more realistic than Paintball, as all the guns are based on the real thing, you can have a Glock 17 (made famous by Die Hard 2), an anti-terrorist H&K MP5 (as used by our own armed police) or even an M16 (as used by the US Army).

Phoenix run games that are realistic to combat situations. Scenarios may include defending a gun-pit, taking an enemy bunker, searching for pilots who've been shot down, defending military hardware.
